Lemonade is a classic summertime beverage that is both refreshing and easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients, you can enjoy a delicious and thirst-quenching drink in no time.

Instructions:

  1. Wash the lemons: Rinse the lemons thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or debris.
  2. Zest the lemons (optional): If you want to add extra flavor to your lemonade, use a vegetable zester or grater to remove the thin outer skin (zest) of 2-3 lemons. Avoid zesting the white pith, as it can be bitter.
  3. Juice the lemons: Cut the lemons in half and use a citrus juicer or reamer to extract the juice. Aim for about 1 cup of lemon juice.
  4. Make the lemonade base: In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Add water and ice: Gradually add the water to the lemonade base, stirring to combine. Adjust the amount of water to your desired sweetness level. Fill the pitcher with ice cubes.
  6. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled with additional ice cubes and lemon slices, if desired.
